Productive Procrastination

This long overdue episode has a lot of ground to cover. I procrastinated in doing the podcast and newsletter this month but with good reason and a slight setback that made no sense. 

The deck that was an echo of the past got rightfully roasted and resulted in a breakthrough. At the same time the Hustle Fund released an excellent e-book about fundraising and deck design. I found the key people needed to execute all of our marketing, branding and engineering goals for 2024, now it’s just a matter of getting them the resources they need to execute. 

Hallowed Be Thy Name is now available anywhere that sells online books. Do a review and either send it to me or a link to it and we’ll pay you $25 dollars. The next comedy show is still in the works, material is ready, I just need to find the time to shoot and edit. 

The money landscape and how I want to see regular people see huge ROI’s off our vision rather than deep pocket VC’s. Tested ads and conversion tracking turned out to be a real pain in the ass. Started using and toying with AI a little more recently, I made something that has me pretty giddy about the near future with programs like Sora on the horizon.

DJ Midas and the Las Vegas Shit Show of A Lifetime

Produced by Gratwick. Guest DJ Midas (Music Producer, Sound Engineer) joins the show. Midas is still recovering from a crazy birthday weekend, but we make it work. Born in Rochester as the son of musician parents Midas was raised on music and adaptability. His move to LA coincided with the dawn of the hip hop era and was a mix of talent, luck and being in the right place at the right time. Midas explains how artists end up with unreleased music and his favorite project. This leads into the greatest indie project that never saw the light of day. Jodeci’s attempt to make a new Purple Rain was chaos and the experience of a lifetime right from the start. Rented out strip clubs, Flava Flav in the Palms recording studio with craigslist girls pounding $25 blue drinks and new relationships that lasted, unfortunately, a lifetime already. Midas shares what life has taught him and the number one lesson he learned from the music industry.
