We planned a history lesson for Gratcast101, but we felt it was more important to talk about what happened to the Madden community on Sunday.

While many people were probably surprised by what happened Sunday, John and Kris are not among them. As members of the Madden community and admins in an online league for the past 5 years, this one hits close to home and its far from a surprise. Kris declares an end to the gun debate with some simple basic logic and truth.  Speaking of logic, DocLogical posted in the Madden community an eye-openingly honest response to what happened and how we need to look no further than the community EA cultivated to see how we got here. Kris makes the case with the money and fame on the line, if EA had to abide by the same gaming regulations as Vegas they would have been shutdown and inundated with class action lawsuits before the sun rose.

John is back and we have a guest to announce for next weeks 100th episode. Award winning filmmaker Kathy Kolla. We have a live show on facebook next week and the topic will be how do we go from #MeToo to #NoMore. The second half of the show will feature the Esports CEO’s of PayDay.GG. They will be giving away a few subscriptions to their tournament platform and talking about an upcoming tournament series to benefit Rock Against MS.

John steps in it with the ladies and Andrea calls hm on it. We’re now looking to get a Fortnite match with John versus 99 female gamers.  Hopefully PayDay can make this happen. (26:00) Qanon vs. Anonymous. Kris explains to Andrea who Q, anons and Anonymous are and why one has declared war on the other.  If you use third grade logic the timing of it all exposes someone as controlled opposition. Either way the hypocrisy of one anonymity condemning another is sheer entertainment when watching from afar.

Kris gives his thoughts and impressions of the documentary Sweet Adversity he attended last week.

The film centers on the life of actress Marsha Hunt who was famously blacklisted from Hollywood for daring to defend her industry friends while they were being run by congress as Russian sympathizers. John relates the sentiment for such Washington hysteria to the driving forces behind the #Walkaway movement. This transitions into a talk about how absurd it is for people to hate the person so much, that they hope the President fails on behalf of America. We all know the horrible, dark and evil things America has done over its history, but for all Trumps sins (and there are a ton of them) are we really suppose to believe he is the worst or most evil person that has ever occupied the oval office, or did the more evil ones have better manners?  No matter how evil or bad someone is, no one is all evil or all good. Each action a person makes stands on its own weight without cleansing, endorsing or forgetting the sins of the past. How does any reasonably educated person not recognize the absurdity of racism? Kris explains how politics has devolved to sports fan guys who can’t be honest about his hometown team without thinking it makes you a fair weather fan.

The topic of our 100th episode will be how do we move beyond #MeToo and enact real culture change that lasts. Kris ponders about how the occupy movement changed the culture of America and was a turning point for all the activism and protests that we see today. The #MeToo movement needs to move to the phase where it inspires spinoff actions and movements. When people sit around and wait for established Hollywood to accept and approve of you to consider yourself successful, they already control you.
